Hitch arrived as expected undamaged, product appears to be of good quality. Online install videos are great but I would recommend also including the written instructions with the hitch or making them easily available on your web site.
The connecting holes lined up perfectly with the car. The installation went more smoothly than I expected.
Perfect fit for the Subaru Outback 2013. The instructions are a bit sparse, but this is the same as the Curt Hitch:so all the videos there work for this as well!
Quick tips:
1) The cut out in the fascia needs to be much deeper than 4.5". We had to unfit and fit the bumper 5 times trying to get it as close as possible - something close to 6". Furthermore, the instructions say it should be off center the center push pin tab, but in fact, it should be dead center!
2) You will need deep sockets (along with socket extension) to get to the bolts on the back. The bolts stick out quite a bit so it's not possible with normal sockets. We couldn't find a 14mm, so we opted for a 9/16th inch instead and that worked like a charm!
3) Plastic trim pry/removal tool is most essential.
Have not used the hitch yet, will post a review when I use it the first time.

Nicely made receiver with a good powder coat finish. It fit perfectly and the install was not difficult, the video was very helpful.
Great product. I didn't find the instructions until I had it installed though. They are taped inside the 2" hitch tube.

The hitch came a day early and ready to install on Saturday. Unfortunately, I was unable to remove the factory hitch. Looks like industrial adhesive was used with the eight nuts. Please let me know the steps to return the purchase hitch to etrailer for a refund. thanks, Henry
The fit and finish on the etrailer Hitch Reciever for our Subaru Outback was perfect. Not a single scratch or chip on the powder coat finish. The installation was a little intimidating, but the video was easy to follow.

Installed this receiver hitch on my 2013 Subaru Outback yesterday. Took me and my buddy about two hours. Trickiest part was dealing with the finicky Subaru fasteners but we had the right tools for it. We did notice an important discrepancy/mistake in the directions. In step 7, It conflates the studs (10mm) for the fasteners/bolts which are actually 14mm. There are no 10mm fasteners but it refers to 10mm fasteners. In fact, the 14mm fastest go on the 10mm studs. That should be corrected in the directions. Otherwise, very pleased with the product and installation video which was a big help. Looking forward to putting this to good use! Deducting one star for the incorrect instructions.

The hitch is still attached to my car, which I guess reflects better on my installation job than the hitch itself. Furthermore, its not rusted or chipped or anything. Seems like a good product

Quality product! Installation was simple and straightforward and the provided instructions and available videos were very helpful.

Still going strong with no rust or damage even after all the salt from the Winter weather.
I am very happy with the hitch and especially the help I received from etrailer personnel and their installation videos. The hitch is a quality beefy unit. The matt paint is done well and blends well on our subaru outback. The installation took me an afternoon, but I am rather cautious by nature and took longer trying to stay organized. Removing the large rear part covering the sides and rear seems intimidating but with the video, it really went quite well and installed well.
Great product, fast delivery and I love the fact you have instructional videos on installation. I installed the hitch myself and I'm very satisfied. I am a repeat customer and I would certainly recommend etrailer to friends and family looking for hitches, racks, etc..
This fits perfectly for a 2013 Subaru Outback wagon. The hitch was packaged well and no issues - clean and no scratches. The installation video was tremendously helpful! I watched the 2016 installation version and found it to be very close to my actual steps on the 2013. Just had to trim another 1.5" depth on the fascia to fit the hitch opening. This video was, by far, the best and most complete install video anywhere on the internet. Thank You etrailer - you saved me about $[XX] by giving me the info to do this myself!

I love this hitch. It was easy to install (took about 2 hours since I had some very rusted bolts to unstick, and following the awesome video directions provided on the web page!), and has been rock solid since. Very happy with the purchase, and all of the information that etrailer provides. If I needed another hitch, I’d absolutely buy it from here.

Excellent finished look, and the instructional video was great. The only minor issue is the mounting holes didn’t line up perfectly under my bumper, but I was able to get it aligned with a rubber mallet.

After a year and a few tows, its been working really well! I cant say how I know, but the emergency chain hooks are really strong Highly recommend this hitch.
